District Dominance

All age groups shine at Pickets Lock

Broxbourne School dominated the district indoor athletics competitions, winning five out of six age groups. It was the first time Year 7 pupils had competed at the Pickets Lock indoor athletics centre. The occasion didn’t faze them with winning performances from Ade Adeyi (200m), Robert Montgomery (800m) Ciaron Pleasance (long jump), Giovanni Ferro (shot) and Georgie Wood (800m).

In the junior age group, with a number of Year 8 pupils competing against Year 9 opposition, the girls team finished winners and the boys’ runners up. Winning performances came from Ruby Olseen (hurdles), Eleanor Davies (300m), Chelise Fleming (high jump), Cameron Raghip (300m) and the relay team of Alex Rilly, Cameron Raghip, Konrad Naumowicz and Will Atkins.

Again both teams dominated in the inter age group, with Broxbourne finishing clear winners. Winning performances came from Ralph Davies (800m) and Cornelius Oteng (shot). The Broxbourne inter girls finished second in all events.

Congratulations to all pupils who took part.
