Sixth time for three Year 13's
This weekend Broxbourne’s U19 netball team head for the National Netball Finals in Ellesmere Port. In preparation the team have played some highly competitive fixtures against Hertfordshire University, Barking Abbey and the East Regional Performance Academy.
The squad of ten includes three extremely talented students who will be heading to the National Netball Finals for their 6th time in a row; the most any player can attend the tournament. Year 13 students Ellie Newman, Emily Gulvin and Emily Fitts, made their debut at the prestigious tournament in Brighton, back in 2010 and have not missed the finals since. Having finished 4th on two previous occasions, the girls are keen to make their final time at the tournament a memorable one.
Captain Ellie Newman will lead the team in Ellesmere Port on 14th March, where they will test themselves for one last time against the top eighteen schools in the country. Fellow England U19 player Emily Gulvin will be sharing the attacking responsibility, with Emily Fitts playing in defence.
All three girls also excel with their academic studies and are set to continue studying at top University’s for their chosen field when they leave Broxbourne.
