EUREKA GCSE SCIENCE IN ACTION STUDY DAY
Students experience a day of inspirational science lectures, including a talk by Lord Robert Winston.
On Monday 16th March, twenty one Year 9 students attended a GCSE study day at the Institute of Education in London.
It was a fantastic day of engaging and challenging lectures from leading, well-renowned scientists. A particular highlight was a talk from Lord Robert Winston, who spoke about the amazing world of embryology and really inspired the students to follow their dreams. Nic Harrigan introduced students to the weird world of Quantum Mechanics and conducted an amazing experiment on stage which allowed students to observe at first hand the pathway of a sub-atomic particle!
Year 9 student, Kiran Rajani said it was a brilliant experience and "I wasn't thinking of studying the sciences, but it really showed me how many amazing things there are in the scientific world. It really blew my mind!"
Mrs Pillbeam (Head of Science) commented “It was a fascinating day. All the students left feeling inspired and wanting more.”
