A TOUCH OF CREATIVE MAGIC
Graphic Designer Justin Monehen inspires Year 10 students during another 'Creative Lunch'.
Year 10 Art students were lucky enough to hear a talk by Justin Monehen of Hey Presto Ltd, a design studio specialising in graphic design for magic-themed products aimed at young children. They learned about the skills and creative work undertaken by a professional graphic design studio, and listened to some advice on how to pursue a career in the industry.
Justin explained about all the stages of the design process behind some of his magic-themed graphic design work, from consulting with clients over a brief to promoting the final product. He also showed some of his work for the Harry Potter film franchise which will tie in with the Harry Potter Souvenir Design Project that Broxbourne Graphics students complete as part of their GCSE coursework.
Year 10 student, Kiara Whelan said it had been a fascinating talk and that “It was really interesting seeing the different steps you need to take to produce a final product that is going to be sold.”
Art Teacher, Mr Aye enthused, “This was a really fun, informative and inspiring presentation. Students are really lucky to have seen Justin’s presentation and will be able to use it as inspiration for their GCSE coursework.”
