Theatre Trip and Workshop

Year 12 and 13 students are treated to an inspiring mime production and workshop.

Year 12 and 13 Theatre Studies students were lucky enough to travel to Hertford Theatre to see a production of ‘Nursing Lives’ by Vamos Theatre .  The company specialises in mime and masked performance, and the actors conveyed emotion through movement and gesture whilst wearing full masks.

The students watched the show in preparation for their examinations in live production scenes, and found it hugely rewarding.  Richard J Fletcher (Associate Artist and Performer in Vamos) paid a return visit to the school and hosted a workshop on the use of masks in performances.

Mr Young (Head of Drama) enthused “It was a valuable opportunity for students to broaden their experience of British Theatre.  It was also a wonderful chance to watch and take part in a different genre of theatre most people never get to enjoy.”
