Creative Lunch Inspires Art Students

Year 10 and 12 Art students learn about the varied career opportunities in the creative industry 

The Art Department welcomed James Marshall in the latest in a series of ‘Creative Lunches Careers Talks’.

James is Creative Director at Tag Worldwide and he delivered an insightful presentation about the company and its work.  Tag Worldwide is a leading creative design agency specialising in marketing, branding and advertising across a range of media, including digital, print, web and television.

The focus of the talk was on the range of art disciplines involved in the creative process at Tag Worldwide, including photography, film and digital editing, storyboarding and graphic design.  Art teacher, Mr Aye, said “It was really inspirational for students to learn that they can apply their particular skills and interests to the work of a large company like Tag.  James was also eager to have students undertake work experience with the company and many of our students were really excited at this opportunity.”

The audience of Year 10 and Year 12 Art students were enthusiastic about the talk.  Megan Hall (Year 10) said “He helped me understand the various roles involved in Graphic Design, and also how you can work your way up from the bottom of the team to management.”

Emily Lewis, also Year 10, said she appreciated learning about the different roles in a creative team and the process involved in developing the final product. “The talk really helped me understand the different possible career paths in design.”
