Sports Day
Milton crowned 2016 champions
The annual Sports Day proved to be a huge success, with record numbers of pupils participating in the various events across two days. Hundreds of pupils donned their house colours to make the opening parade the biggest and most colourful yet.
The whole school were out to watch in the afternoon, while the competitors enjoyed a number of different events in the centre of the track. Between their track events, pupils representing Austen, Bronte, Chaucer and Milton participated in speed bounce, obstacle race, tug of war and standing long jump. Year 12 pupils entertained the crowd in the 30m three legged raced, followed by a defeat in the tug of war by the teachers. Back on the track the competition was heating up just like the weather.
After two days of highly competitive events, it was Milton who took the honours for the second year in a row, this time by 51 points from Austen 2nd (630), Bronte 3rd (618) and Chaucer 4th (576). Well done to everyone who represented their house and participated in Sports Day 2016.
