Non-uniform day raises money for charities
Pupils at The Broxbourne School participated in a non-uniform day to raise over £2,200 for two important causes.
A generous donation was made to the Talk Education partnership, which is a small non-profit charity working to improve educational opportunities for children in rural Uganda. This is the charity which helped Broxbourne School set up a school link with Namwaya School in Uganda. The money raised will be spent supporting teachers and pupils in remote and under resourced primary schools in Uganda. This will involve professional development training for teachers and also help improve basic resources like desks and classroom equipment in schools including Namwaya Primary school, our link school.
In addition the school maintained its tradition of donating to Children in Need; money raised provides grants to projects in the UK which focus on children and young people who are disadvantaged. The charity supports small and large organisations in all corners of the UK which empower children and extend their life choices.
Thank you to all members of the school community who donated so generously.
