Broxbourne School fielded full strength teams in all age groups at the district indoor athletics competition held at Pickets Lock. A number of pupils were taking part in the competition for the first time; there were some excellent performances throughout the afternoon including a new record set in the junior girls’ 4 x 200m. The team of Zarah Duignan, Davina Foster, Ruby Olseen and Zoe Wood were in front from gun to tape, setting a time of 2:04 minutes, breaking the record by over 4 seconds. The inter boys 4 x 200m also produced an excellent win in their relay; the team included Timi Akande, Konrad Naumowicz, George Walker and Jakub Zdunczuk.
The following pupils had an excellent afternoon and finished in first place in their events: Janaya Best (100m & triple jump), Amber Clark (shot putt), Elena Davies (300m), Ralph Davies (800m), Davina Foster (long jump), Alex Garcia (800m), Emily Lush (high jump), Ruby Olseen (hurdles & high jump), Demi Sansui (hurdles), Noah Southwell (long jump), Niamh Stevens (800m), Georgie Wood (800m), Zoe Wood (triple jump).
