The Broxbourne House System

Autumn 2018

The new academic year is underway and our school House Events have got off to a fantastic start!

The first of this year’s House Assemblies took place back in September and many students were keen to sign up for events to earn points for their Houses and make an early climb up the leaderboard.  Mrs Procter hosted the Geography Quiz which saw a great turn out for Dickens House.  They had the most attendees and won the quiz overall!   Attenborough, last year’s House Cup winners, were not far behind in second place and Hepworth’s team were runners up in third.

The History Quiz was again a success; Dickens House are clearly determined to collect their points early this year and make up for their fourth place at the end of last summer as they again had a great number of attendees and were victorious.  Attenborough continue to enjoy a steady increase of points with second place followed by Hepworth in third.  Nightingale might be playing strategically, but they currently trail behind in fourth place.

The Music Practice-a-thon was organised for budding musicians over half term to earn points for their Houses and raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.  This comes to an end this week and points will soon be added for participation in this event.

Coming up later this term will be the Christmas House Bake Off on 10th December where students can enjoy showcasing their festive creations and earn some more House points!
