Broxbourne School is again celebrating record GCSE examination results

  • 84% of all pupils, achieved the new standard pass of 4 in both English and Maths
  • A third of all grades were the highest grades 7-9 or A*/A

Amongst many outstanding performances were Morgan Anderson, Ryan Atkinson, Holly Chandler, Luca Dileto, Carmine Grasso, Fergal Harte, Katie Hayward, Antonia Martino and Krystle Okine who achieved 12 highest grades; Drew Amos, Nicole Babayemi, Lucinda-Belle Paton, Noah Tucker, George Walker who achieved 11 highest grades; Anika Cobby, Joshua Hosgood, Joely Munday, Kane Phillips who achieved 10 highest grades; and Rhea Bhandari, Oluwadara Emmanuel, James Ioannou, Anezka Khan, Samuel Taylor, Christopher Thomas who scored nine highest grades.

Paula Humphreys, Headteacher, congratulated pupils, staff and parents. “These exceptional results are a tribute to the pupils' hard work, outstanding teaching and the support of parents.”

 

Christopher Thomas said “I am very happy and really looking forward to taking my A Levels now.  Christopher obtained grades including three 9s, two 8s and four 7s”. Christopher is going to take A levels in History, RE and Italian.

Nicole Babayemi said “I am really relieved! It was so nice to finally open the envelope and see my grades. My friends and I really supported each other so I am pleased we have done so well.”  Nicole obtained grades including three 9 grades, two 8 grades, five 7 grades and an A grade in a Further Maths qualification. Nicole is going to take A levels in Chemistry, Maths and Biology.

Antonia Martino said “I am ecstatic. I’d like to thank all the teachers at the school for all their support. I am hoping eventually to become a doctor and these grades should really help me when I come to apply.” Antonia obtained an astonishing eleven 9 grades and one A* grade in  a Further Maths qualification. Antonia is going to take A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Chemistry.

Joshua Hosgood said “I am really happy to get me results and want to thank my parents for how they supported me. I am really looking forward to my A levels now.” Joshua obtained five 9 grades, one 8 grade, three 7 grades and an A* grade in a Further Maths qualification. Joshua is going to take A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics.

Sam Taylor said “I am pleased with my results, maybe the odd one I could have done even better in!” Sam obtained four 9 grades, three 8 grades, one 7 grade and an A* grade in Further Maths. Sam is going to take A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science.

Carmine Grasso said “I am pretty speechless. I was shaking when I opened my envelope. It is such a relief to finally get my results.” Carmine obtained eight 9 grades, three 8 grades and one A grade in Further Maths. Carmine is going to take A levels in Biology, Chemistry, English Literature and Italian.

Anezka Khan said “I am really happy; I worked hard and I am really glad it paid off”. Anezka obtained four 8 grades, four 7 grades and an A* grade in ICT.  Anezka is going to take A levels in Drama, Biology and English.

Joely Munday said “I am really pleased. They are better than I was expecting. I’m really pleased that my hard work has paid off”.  Joely obtained one 9 grade, seven 8 grades and two 7 grades. Joely is going to take A levels in Maths, Chemistry and Business Studies.

Katie Hayward said “I am really happy. I was preparing for the worst and I actually cried when I opened my results envelope.” Katie obtained four 9 grades, six 8 grades and one 7 as well as an A grade in Further Maths. Katie is now going to take A levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Psychology.

Rhea Bandari said “I am surprised bur really happy. We will be celebrating today!” Rhea obtained six 8 grades and three 7 grades. Rhea is now going to take A levels in Maths, Economics and History.

George Walker said “I’d like to thank my teachers and my parents for all their support.” George obtained six 9 grades, two 8 grades, two 7 grades and an A* in Further Maths. George is now going to take A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics.

Ryan Atkinson said “I am very happy. They are better than I expected! I’m going to celebrate today with my family.” Ryan obtained two 9 grades, seven 8 grades, two 7 grades and 1 A grade. Ryan is now going to take A levels in Maths, Economics and Biology.

Kane Phillips said “I am really pleased. The results are better than I expected. I want to thank my family for all their support”. Kane obtained six 8 grades and four 7 grades. Kane is now going to take A levels in Biology, Economics and Psychology.
