U19 netball team qualify for the national finals
On Saturday, Broxbourne U19 netball team took the East Region championships by storm, with an impressive display of netball. The tournament took place at Hassenbrook School in Thurrock. Despite competing in terrible weather conditions, the squad of ten dominated the competition from start to finish.
The group stage involved six games, with the tightest game coming in the first match against Woodbridge, which Broxbourne won 8-6. After winning the group with maximum points and a positive goal difference of 58, the team faced Herts County runners-up Haberdashers' Aske's School for Girls in the semi-final. With a place at the national finals at stake, the girls produced their best netball of the day to win 20 – 1. Defence of the title was complete when Broxbourne beat Perse School from Cambridgeshire 6 – 2 in the final.
The squad now travel to Ellesmere Port on 14th March to compete at the national finals.
