TIM BERNARD (formally Ahmed)
Tim was a pupil at The Broxbourne School from 2003 - 2009 before leaving to study Script Writing for Film and Television at Bournemouth University. He now runs his own film production company, Memoir Pictures.
Tim credits his English teacher with inspiring him and convincing him he could do anything he wanted, "I began to engage with my lessons, I loved learning how to discuss my own views and express myself. I got my first A and something happened - I thought I can do this,. That's the moment I began to excel in other subjects, too."
The Sixth Form was an important time for Tim and he took A-levels in Sociology, Drama and Media. He enjoyed learning the subjects in depth, and says "The teachers were very encouraging and influential. They inspired me to work hard and take my work seriously. It was a time to be creative, to debate and to focus on the subjects I love. It was an excellent preparation for university and what was to come."
Tim graduated in 2013 and took his first film, 'Still Waters' to the Monaco International Film Festival, where he won the Rising Star Award for young film makers. Tim's ambitions don't end there, however, and he hopes to gain a BAFTA next, "I think I can 100% achieve that. I know how to overcome expectation."
