Sixth Form Information Evening - Wednesday 10th November 2021

Prospective Sixth Form students and their parents are invited to a presentation* by senior staff and meet subject leaders and current students to discuss the various options available for study.

Students are at the heart of everything we do at The Broxbourne School.  As such, they choose to continue to study with us because they:

  • Achieve outstanding results in our sixth form, out-performing other students in Hertfordshire and nationally.  In 2021, 57% of grades were A*-A, 79% were A*-B, with many students achieving A*-A in all their courses
  • Make outstanding progress in our sixth form; compared with children with the same GCSE results, our students achieve higher A level grades
  • Go on to embark on a wide variety of university courses at top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge as well as high level apprenticeships. In 2021, 81% of our students entered Higher Education, including 49% at Russell Group universities and 11% went on to high level apprenticeships
  • Receive outstanding pastoral support, care and guidance in a welcoming and supportive environment
  • Receive outstanding teaching with all courses taught by well-qualified specialist teachers.  The school is one of nine schools nationally to be a selected as a Language Hub and has been awarded Music Mark status. It is also one of a small number of schools to be selected to offer T Levels
  • Can choose from an extensive range of A level courses
  • Can choose the prestigious T Level programme in Management and Administration (including an extended industrial placement)
  • Receive outstanding careers guidance and support with UCAS and apprenticeship applications
  • Are encouraged to undertake a wide variety of leadership roles, including Prefect, Mentor, Tutor and House Captain
  • Are offered a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including language work experience; music tours to Euro Disney and Belgium; visits abroad to New York and Canada and Gold Duke of Edinburgh
  • Enjoy brand new dedicated sixth form facilities with access to Wi-Fi and study spaces
