Uniform

We are proud of our school uniform, which is worn by all students in Years 7 to 11.  Parents will understand that by accepting a place at The Broxbourne School, they have undertaken to ensure that their child attends in the correct uniform every day.

UNIFORM AND SCHOOL RULES

Kilt Uniform

  • School kilt with House badge
  • Plain blue revere blouse
  • Cherry V-neck sweater
  • Black or natural tights or black or white socks

Trouser Uniform

  • White shirt
  • School House tie
  • Plain black or grey socks
  • Year 7 and 8: School blazer: cherry; dark grey trousers
  • Year 9, 10 and 11: School blazer: black; black trousers

Additional Requirements

  • A coat of a style suitable for school; plain black, navy or dark grey. No denim or leather jackets, tracksuit tops or hoodies.
  • Footwear includes sensible black shoes, avoiding extreme fashion; no boots or any kind of trainers. This includes sports suppliers such as Adidas, Converse NIKE, On Cloud and Vans.
  • Extreme hair styles or unnatural hair dyes are not permitted. Shaved patterns are not permitted including eyebrows.
  • Pupils may wear one: ring, necklace and bracelet and a watch. Smartwatches must be worn in either ‘do not disturb’ or ‘theatre’ mode. If seen not to be in that mode it will be confiscated.
  • Pupils may wear one pair of earrings in the lower lobe of the ear. No additional piercings are allowed, including nose/upper ear/eyebrow/tongue studs. It is not acceptable to wear a plastic retainer in the piercing or to have it covered with a plaster. If a pupil wishes to have additional piercings, then they will be required to remove these during school time regardless of whether the piercing has healed or not. Please check healing time prior to piercings.
  • No make-up should be worn in Years 7 - 8. Discreet make-up is permitted thereafter but eye make up, lipstick, false eyelashes or false nails are not allowed.
  • The use of personal headphones and mobile phones are not permitted in school between 8:40 and 15:10
  • From September 2026 jumpers will no longer be part of the trouser uniform for Years 7 to 11
