Royal Opera House Design Challenge
BackWe are delighted to celebrate the work of our sixth form Art students on their participation in the Royal Opera House Design Challenge. This is a national competition run throughout the country at schools, colleges and universities to promote backstage careers in the theatre industry. Students work on a live brief set by the Royal Opera House and create a portfolio of work to present to the industry led judging panel.
Special mention goes to Evelyn Pope, the overall winner of the Hair, Wigs and Make-up category and Jemimah kamau, a commended entry for the Set Design category.
On the 8th of June, Evelyn attended a day at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden where she was able to work with the Hair, wigs and Make-up department.
Both Evelyn and Jemimah's work has been exhibited in the Linbury wing of the Opera House throughout the month.
We would like to congratulate both Evelyn and Jemimah on this achievement alongside the other participants on their professional approach to this brief.
