GCSE photo press release 2022

Broxbourne School is celebrating pupils’ excellent GCSE examination results.

Amongst many outstanding performances were James Church, Will Fountain and Marco Gulielmucci who achieved 11 highest grades; Bianca Acatrinei, Temi Akintayo, Yash Amin, Sophie Buck, Billy Draper, Edie Lawn, George McGeough, Sinnit Michael, Emily Snell, Mia Street, Sydney Walker, Ella M Wright, Ruby Wright, who achieved 10 highest grades; Mae Carter, Molly Chambers, Jeevraj Dhillon, Georgie Everett, Ashbal Mahar, Abigail Mehmet, Rio Rajapakse, Alexander Sammarco who achieved 9 highest grades; Cassidy Brade, Alina Edwards, Dylan Hosgood, Zara Hussein, Alicia Knightley and Ngabo Maninga who achieved 8 highest Grades.

Paula Humphreys, Headteacher, congratulated pupils, staff and parents. “These exceptional results reflect pupils' hard work, outstanding teaching and the support of parents.”

Below are some quotes from students:

Bianca Acatrinei achieved two 9 grades, three 8 grades and five grade 7s. She said “I feel good! A lot of hard work went into getting these grades and the teachers were really helpful. I seem to be following my Mum’s footsteps doing A-levels in biology, psychology and economics and hoping to go to university. Good luck to everyone sitting their exams next year”

Yash Amin achieved ten grade 9s and a grade 6. He said “I’m very pleased and very grateful to the teachers who helped me achieve these results”. Yash will now be doing A-levels in maths, further maths, physics and computer science. 

Sophie Buck achieved six grade 9s, three grade 8s and a grade 7. She said "I'm really happy; I'm glad my hard work paid off. I'm excited to celebrate with my family." Sophie will be doing A-levels in biology, psychology and chemistry.

Billy Draper achieved 8 grade 9s, one grade 8, one grade 7 and one grade 5. He said “Lots of after school sessions definitely helped”. Billy will now be doing A-levels in maths, physics, comp science, and further maths.

Marco Guglielmucci achieved nine grade 9s and two grade 8s. He said "Thanks to my wonderful teachers and parents for all of the support. I'm looking forward to studying A levels next year". Marco will be doing A-levels in maths, physics, chemistry and Italian.

Edie Lawn, achieved 6 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s and a grade 7. She said “I started working in January a bit every day and increased that over time”. Edie will be doing A-levels in biology, chemistry, and maths and would like to do go on to study medicine at University.

Ruby Wright, achieved six grade 9s, three grade 8s and one grade 7. She said “This is massive after two years of lockdown”. Ruby will be doing A-levels in English Literature, French, RE and German.
